Pharma Conference Inc is pleased to announce their inaugural conference on Supply Chain Security.
The conference, 1st Annual International Conference on Supply Chain Security and Management, is tentatively slated for October 24 – 26, 2017, in Memphis, Tennessee, at the historic Peabody Memphis Hotel. The conference will kick off on the evening of October 23rd with a welcome reception.
“Supply Chain Security, and the ability to protect patients from counterfeit and illicit medicines, is one of the most pressing challenges facing the pharmaceutical industry worldwide. How to develop and implement meaningful best practices and increase the security and integrity of the supply chain are critical issues all organizations must address,” commented Anthony Zook, PhD, Executive Director of Product Integrity for Merck and Co-Chair of the conference.
The World Health Organization has called counterfeit drugs a global public health threat, and pharmaceutical manufacturers are tasked not only with finding practical ways to secure their supply chains, but with complying with federal laws dealing with these issues. Among them, the U.S. Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) has a major compliance deadline coming in November 2017.
“This is a critical conference for all pharmaceutical companies. Counterfeiting, re-packaging, thefts, and the like are posing serious threat to public safety. The pharmaceutical industry, FDA, and global regulatory authorities must work together to ensure that all that is possible to do is being done,” said J.W. Smith, President of Pharma Conference. “Our goal with this conference is to provide practical strategies and expert guidance on this most important issue.”
Pharma Conference Inc’s well-known GMP By The Sea conference was held in late August, and attendees gave the 21st annual conference extremely high ratings.
Mark Elengold, conference chair for the annual conference, said that attendees reported high levels of satisfaction with the quality of the speakers, content and meeting planning.
Mark Elengold, conference chair for the conference, said, “As always, we’re bringing to our attendees some of the top FDA and Industry officials and experts. They will be able to provide a great deal of cutting edge information to our attendees.”
“GMP By The Sea has become known as one of the top GMP conferences in the U.S.,” commented Elengold. “Attendees expect a superior experience, both from the event itself and from the speakers and program. We delivered on that again this year.”
